How to get a COVID-19 vaccination

We recommend that all who are eligible get vaccinated as soon as they can. All of the available vaccines are safe, effective, and lifesaving.

Here are some ways you can sign up for a vaccine:

  • Request an appointment at Kaiser Permanente on kp.org/covidvaccine. We’ll continue to add appointment availability as we receive more vaccine supplies. We kindly ask that you don’t email your doctor for an appointment as they can’t book vaccine appointments for you. Individuals who don’t have access to kp.org may call 1-866-454-8855 (northern California) or 1-833-KP4-CARE or 1-833-574-2273 (southern California) for assistance. Please note that we are currently experiencing high call volumes and you may experience longer than normal wait times.
  • Find an appointment on myturn.ca.gov. People can look for available vaccination appointments at many locations in their area, including mass vaccination hubs and other authorized vaccine administrators.
  • Go to your neighborhood pharmacy. Vaccines are also available at many local pharmacies at no cost.

We’re in this together

Whether you’ve already been vaccinated or you’re now eligible, let’s continue doing our part to protect each other. Keep wearing your mask. Physically distance. Wash your hands regularly. And encourage others to get vaccinated as soon as they can.

For more information on the vaccine, visit kp.org/covidvaccine. You can also call the 24/7 KP COVID Vaccine InfoLine at 1‑855‑550‑0951 (available in English and Spanish) for regular recorded updates.

Testing and costs: Kaiser has the ability to have our patients tested for COVID-19. If testing is warranted, we will make the appropriate arrangements. As a member of Kaiser Permanente, you will not have to pay for costs related to COVID-19 screening or testing. We believe that cost should not be a barrier to screening or testing for our members who may have been affected by this virus. Kaiser Permanente will not charge member cost-sharing (including, but not limited to, co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance) for all medically necessary screening and testing for COVID-19. This policy applies to the cost of the visit, associated lab tests, and radiology services at our hospital, emergency department, urgent care, and provider offices where the purpose of the visit is to be screened and/or tested for COVID-19.

In the event you are diagnosed with COVID-19, additional services, including hospital admission (if applicable) will be covered and charged according to your normal plan coverage rules.

Prescriptions: It’s a good idea to fill your prescriptions through our mail order service, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak, not only because you can avoid standing in line at the pharmacy but also because with most prescriptions you can get 3 months’ supply for the price of 2 months. Sign up on kp.org/rxrefill and receive your medications in about 3-5 business days. For urgent prescriptions, you should visit your closest Kaiser Permanente medical center pharmacy.
